What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a key component of traditional Chinese medicine that is commonly used to treat chronic pain. Increasingly, it is also being used for stress management and overall health and wellbeing. Many Western practitioners believe the strategic points used in acupuncture stimulates the neuromuscular system, and boosts the body's natural painkilling capabilities.
How is Acupuncture performed, and is it painful?
During an acupuncture therapy session, your acupuncturist will insert very thin needles into specific points throughout the body (aka: meridians). Insertion of these thin needles usually causes little discomfort.
